Park Logistics
Murphys Community Park is located at 505 Algiers Street in Murphys. You can drop by to enjoy time at the park with family and friends any day of the week between 8:00 am and 10:00 pm. This is a pet-friendly park as well so if you happen to be enjoying time in Murphys with your favorite canine companion at your side, there’s no reason not to include them in on the fun. Murphys Community Park is operated and maintained by The Murphys Community Club which is a non-profit volunteer organization dating back to 1948. The organization takes meticulous care of this county-owned park and is responsible for helping to maintain play areas, keep walkways, bridges, and lawns at their best while also helping organize the annual Homecoming events that are hosted at the park alongside community fundraisers.
Fun Things to Do While You’re Here
Customizing your time at Murphys Community Park is a breeze with so many outdoor activities to choose from. There’s a grilling area on-site at the park so if you’re in the mood to serve up something savory under the California sun, this is the place to do exactly that. There are also numerous picnic areas for those who prefer to pack their meals and savor time in good company in the shade. If you’re spending time here with little ones in tow who have extra energy to burn, the on-site playground is the place you’re going to want to be. There are also opportunities to stretch out on the spacious lawns or spend some time strolling the pathways. The park’s gazebo is a highlight feature of the space and a wonderful place for photos. Depending on when you arrive, you might be right on time to enjoy the Murphys Park Farmers Market which is held here as well.
Expand the Entertainment at the Bocce Courts
Just across the street from Murphys Community Park, visitors can expand on their entertainment even further at the Murphys Park Bocce Courts. This is one of the newer amenities to the park and has been highly anticipated by locals and visitors alike. There are two courts available to use between 9:00 am and sundown. To play, you’ll need to register at the front desk of the Murphys Historic Hotel which is also where you can check on availability or rent courts for future dates. If you don’t have your own gear, you can easily rent bocce balls at the front desk for $12 for 2 hours of play.
