All About the Val du Vino Winery
The Val du Vino Winery is a hidden gem at the end of Main Street in Murphys, CA. They use grapes for all their wine from Murphys’ local wineries, including their own, and produce small batches of each wine. This technique ensures an exceptional wine tasting experience every time. As you can see, it’s obvious why we picked Val du Vino as our Winery of the Month!
The Top-Notch Wines
This winery produces a diverse collection of local wines that you won’t find at others in the area. Val du Vino’s unique lineup includes a Viognier, Grenache, Sangiovese, Zinfandel, Merlot, and Sirah. Be sure to check out their website for their current selection. We highly recommend the Sirah, as its grapes come from Val du Vino’s very own El Portal Vineyard and yield luscious flavors of fresh blackberries, cherries, and allspice. Yum!
The Stunning Property
As Main Street’s only working winery, Val du Vino sits on four acres of beautiful land. Their tasting room is in a historic barn that dates back to the early 1920s. It has been utilized as a winery for 30 years now. The tasting room is open seven days a week so that you can enjoy a wine tasting anytime! Be sure to ask about their tour opportunities so you can soak in all that the fabulous property has to offer.
Exciting Events at Val du Vino Winery
Throughout the year, Val du Vino hosts an impressive array of events. Events include delicious 5-course dinner/wine pairings, live music, holiday soirees, and community open houses. The winery also participates in the Presidents’ Wine Weekend (each February). This is an opportunity for wine lovers to purchase a $25 wine glass, take it to participating wineries, and enjoy flights of award-winning wines of different varietals.
