The Best California Weekend Tennis Getaway for Your Team
Did you know that our innkeepers Chris and Larry Parker are former professional world-class tennis players? Chris was National USPTA Player of the Year, and Larry was formally NorCal USPTA Pro of the Year. Both have coached players of all levels, from beginners to nationally ranked.
Today, they continue to serve their love of the sport by incorporating it into Courtwood Inn. Each of their guest rooms is elegantly decorated and features tennis themes. Plus, two beautiful hard courts are located onsite, and we offer an array of impressive tennis packages.
The Smash Package
Gather your group and book 3-5 of our mini-suites (not including Mickeys or Drop Shot) for a 2-night stay and take advantage of our Smash Package. You’ll begin your stay with early check-in and reserved courts for afternoon play. Afterward, unwind with a wine and cheese reception at the inn and dinner in downtown Murphys. We’ll have a delicious dessert waiting for you upon your return!
On day two, fuel up for your day with delicious homemade breakfast. We will reserve tennis courts for you for morning and afternoon play. The fun doesn’t stop there, though! After playing, gather for a wine party with a blind tasting of local wines with prizes. Choose another Murphys restaurant to enjoy dinner at and enjoy dessert at the inn before hitting the hay.
Before your trip comes to an end on the third day, you’ll be treated to another deluxe breakfast. Then enjoy morning play on the courts and check out by noon.
The Ace Package
Need an extra night with the team? This package is for a three-night stay at our gorgeous lodge! The Ace Package includes the same amenities as the Smash Package for the first two days, plus you’ll receive a 10% discounted rate on accommodations (except on weekends).
Starting on day three, you can enjoy your time after breakfast shopping, sightseeing, and, of course, playing more tennis! We have coached round–robin play for the afternoon with Larry and a casual farewell dinner for you that night here at Courtwood Inn.
The fourth and final day of the package will be the same as day three with the Smash Package.
The Golden Set Package
Are you bringing a USPTA/PTR certified professional with you? When you book a Smash or Ace Package, we are pleased to offer the pro a complimentary room! They can also organize all your on-court tennis activities.
The Silver Set Package
Does your team desire a bit more instruction? Take your skills up a notch with our Silver Set Package. With this package, you will receive group instructions and drills from tennis professional Larry Parker for $130/hour on our championship courts. He also offers private lessons for $115/hour. You’ll be serving up fantastic tennis moves in no time!
Love Set Doubles Packages
What do you get when you combine a romantic vacation with a California weekend tennis getaway? Our Love Set Doubles Package! This fabulous package is for two doubles pairs and features a two-night stay in specially selected mini-suites. You can arrive on Friday and check out Sunday, arrive on Saturday and checkout Monday (in low season only), or come during the week.
The Love Set Doubles Package includes reserved court time for practice and play each day during your stay. Larry will facilitate a 1-hour doubles strategy clinic with evaluation and practice tips for improvement.
We’ll treat you like royalty, and you’ll find a welcome gift, tennis balls, and a bottle of local wine in your room upon arrival. You’ll also receive free wine tastings at two of our favorite local tasting rooms, complimentary breakfast each day, and a daily wine and cheese reception each day before you head to Murphys for dinner.

You can choose your favorite – the Davis Cup, the Wimbledon, the French Open, the US Open, or the Australian Open. Each of our rooms comes with their own private baths featuring a Jason MicroSilk Hydrotherapy tub, incredible views from your private patio or deck, as well as a table and chairs outside to enjoy the views and a multi-course breakfast!
